Item:233025382143Hello, FINAL PRICE DROP: Builders in on Monday, hence needs to go asap. UPDATE: Last week a some sort of a nocturnal w@nk3r borrowed a driver side mirror housing overnight; doubt it will be returned ... For sale is my 2000 VW Golf GTI (MK 4). I've driven the car from April until November this year (and clocked nearly 5k miles). It was meant to be my interim car until Jan/Feb, but the car I wanted to get arrived early and now I cannot justify owning the Golf. The car comes with full service history (thick paperwork from previous owners); I have added the clutch, brakes and suspension elements, as well as new battery (all with receipts). They all have cost me nearly a grand, hence the asking price. Mechanically, the car asks for nothing. The only things you'll need to top up are petrol and fluids. The tyres have several thousand miles of life in them too. EML is occasionally on - says "service now", and then it disappears. I was reluctant to do it as clutch was done in April (HiQ) and suspension/breaks in July (Northampton Motorsport). Battery replaced in October. Bodywork is satisfactory, but little niggles never bothered me at all due to purpose of the car. If you're good with bumpers, you'll work out how to get it looking better. Fuel economy is decent. My daily commute is 30 miles return trip (A45), plus occasional weekend trips and airport runs (Luton/Stansted/Heathrow). I usually managed three weeks without airport runs and two weeks on a tank (if going to Luton). Comfortable enough for four people (tried and tested in Harrow end of August), but I drove it mostly on my own or sometimes with passengers when doing airport runs. Clean too - I'm a non-smoker and have no pets. Stereo is really decent; I'm not a radio fan, so was tuning in to my usb music. Power is fine, but I wish it was the turbo charged version. I did not drive it like a granny, so the engine is used to 3/3.5 revs gear changes. MOT expires 2 April 2019. No advisories on the 2018 one. 20 litres of petrol in tank as a bonus, together with about 500ml of oil to do regular top ups. Full-sized spare wheel in the boot. I'd really would like the car to go soon as there are bits and bobs at home I need to crack on with, and ideally finish before end of year. Therefore, I am open to offers that are sensible. Test drives fine, but with full asking price in my hand; otherwise, I am driving and you're in the passenger seat. Weekends most comfortable to organise viewings. Weekdays mostly after 4.30pm.
